When Liverpool signed Mohamed Salah in the summer of 2017, the Egyptian was not Jurgen Klopp’s first choice summer signing. Instead, the Reds boss was determined to land compatriot Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen, but was unable to strike a deal for the Germany international. Of course, everything worked out, with Salah having scored 64 goals (and counting) in just 88 games for the Reds, the Egyptian having become one of Europe's most dangerous attackers since his move to Merseyside.
