In the three years that Brendan Rodgers spent as Liverpool manager he made 33 signings as he tried to push the reds up to the top of the league. In the 2013-14 season he came ever so close to doing so. Scoring 101 goals in that season, breaking a club record that had stood since the 1800s, Rodgers saw his Liverpool side come out second best behind Manchester City. The infamous collapse at Selhurst Park, where his side let a three-goal lead slip against Crystal Palace, was a key moment that cost his side the title. However he did still win the LMA Manager of the year award for his efforts over the duration of that season, recognition of the tactical brilliance the Northern Irishman possesses.
